Up-Sell campaigns

This page allows the you to build campaigns that encourage customers to buy more products.

There are three different types of campaign you can use to grow your business. This article will give you some information on the different campaign types and show you how to set them up.

Accessing the Campaign Page

Campaigns can be viewed and created from the Campaigns page.

To access the Campaigns page follow the steps below:

1. From the dashboard click Stores setup

2. Then click Up-sell campaigns

The Up-sell Campaigns page displays.

ItemDescription
Green / Red Light Shows if the campaign is active or in draft mode.
Campaign Name Selected when you add/edit a campaign - this is free text and can be anything you choose.
UNIQUE IMPRESSIONSHow many unique people were exposed to this up-sell.
CONVERSION RATEHow many people purchased something as a result of the up-sell campaign in comparison to how many people saw the up-sell.

For example, if 100 people saw an up-sell campaign for recommended products and 25 out of those bought a recommended product on top of their initial order that is a 25% conversion rate.
CONVERSIONSThe total number of orders where an up-sell campaign successfully promoted an action that resulted in an additional item getting purchased.

Every up-sell campaign has a "goal/action" that should be tracked.

Expanded Campaign View

For additional information and metrics on an individual campaign click the Campaign name

The expanded campaign view displays.

On/Off toggle Change campaign status to active or unpublished (where it is not active on the front end store).
Date Range Filter the campaign statistics displayed below by the selected date range:

Unique impressions
Conversion rate
* Conversions
Edit Settings button Click to edit campaign settings and presets.
Delete Campaign Completely removes the campaign from the admin panel.

Create New Up-Sell Campaign

To begin creating a new up-sell campaign click Create campaign

The Select Up-sell campaign type page displays.

Create Product Recommendation Campaign

To create a product recommendation campaign follow the steps below:

1. Use the On / Off toggle to change campaign status to active or unpublished

All Products: When this is selected all store products are targeted.

Manual: This allows you to target specific products manually. Uses the same dropdown modal as manual product adding in 'add a collection' page.

Conditions: This allows you to set conditions for which products to target. Same functionality that is already in place on 'add a collection' page.

4. Select the Matching methods using the On/Off toggle switches

Matching Method

This allows you turn on / off different matching methods. You can also set their level of importance. If not enough product matches are found on level 1 then level 2 is used, etc.

Default matching methods:

  • Level 1: Products most commonly bought together
  • Level 2: Products from the same collection
  • Level 3: Products with the same tags

4. Select the Country Targeting using the drop-down

Country Targeting

This allows you to target the Up-sell promotion at a specific country or countries.

5. Select the Discount criteria:

  • Discount: Enter the $ Value or % amount

  • Discount Type dropdown: Select $ off OR % Off

  • Discount Expiry Time: Enter the length of time you want to offer the discount for in minutes e.g. for a 12 hour promotion enter 720 (Minutes)

6. Optionally you can customize the timer bar that your customers will see.

  • You can enter free text into the message field

  • You can customize the bar background and text colors by clicking the box and selecting via the dropper tool, or entering a HEX code directly.

7. Customize the Up-sell Message - you can choose from two options:

Text with button

  • You can enter free text into the Call to action text field

  • You can enter custom text in the Button text field

  • You can customize the bar background and text colors by clicking the box and selecting via the dropper tool, or entering a HEX code directly.

8. Select the Frequency Cap - you can optionally set a per user frequency cap to limit the number of page impressions per user

Set number of impressions by:

  • Minutes
  • Hours
  • Days
  • Weeks
  • Months
  • Lifetime
